Photographs capture and store moments in time across many dimensions.  They help us remember and preserve moments with family and friends, record visits to special places, capture images of artistic and natural creations, and record details that our eyes didn't see or our mind might forget.  Photos capture moments that help us compare two or more moments in time.  We might take several photos of the same time and place and choose which photos to keep...we decide which memories to keep, and which ones to discard.  They reveal vibrant colors or shades of gray, black, and white.  They focus on exquisite details close up or broad vistas far away.  They can capture images in two dimensions the colors and details that are very close to what our senses experienced at that moment, or the images can be manipulated and distort what our senses experienced.  They invite us to witness things we have not yet seen.  Photographs capture and communicate the range of human experiences and emotions.
